Frontier Co, NE (March 24, 2025) – A serious head-on injury crash occurred on Sunday afternoon, March 23, on Highway 83 near the Red Willow-Frontier Co. line. The collision involved a Nissan Altima and a Dodge pickup towing a trailer, prompting an emergency response from multiple agencies.
According to the Frontier County Sheriff’s Office, the Nissan Altima was traveling south on Hwy 83 at approximately 3:39 p.m. when it crossed the centerline, veered onto the northbound shoulder, and collided with the Dodge pickup. The impact caused the pickup to overturn, coming to rest on its roof.
Emergency crews from the Red Willow Western Fire Dept., Maywood-Wellfleet Fire Dist., Frontier County EMS, McCook Fire & Rescue, Nebraska State Patrol, and Red Willow County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Firefighters assisted in extracting individuals from the vehicles, while EMS personnel provided medical aid. The injured were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
