Lancaster Co., NE – John W. Gross Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Sun Valley Blvd

Lancaster County, NE (July 23, 2024) – A fatal crash occurred on Saturday morning, July 20, in Lancaster County, claiming the life of a local man. The incident, reported by the Lincoln Police Department, occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of Sun Valley Boulevard and W Street in Lincoln.

According to the Lincoln Police Department, a vehicle driven by Vanesa Williams, 30, was traveling westbound when it jumped the median and struck John Wayne Gross, who was sitting on the raised median. The collision resulted in Gross being transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Williams was arrested at the scene and has been charged with motor vehicle homicide after it was determined that she was under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident. The local police are currently investigating the crash.
