Lincoln, NE (December 9, 2024) – An injury pedestrian crash occurred early Monday morning involving a pickup truck and a pedestrian at NW 20th and W’ O’ St. The incident, currently under investigation by Lincoln Police (LPD), happened at approximately 6:25 a.m.
According to LPD, a 21-year-old woman was hit by a pickup truck while crossing NW 20th St. Emergency responders from Lincoln Fire and Rescue (LFR) transported her to a local hospital with critical injuries. Her condition was later upgraded, and she is now expected to survive. The pickup driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the authorities.
A secondary crash occurred on the opposite side of the street, reportedly due to slowed traffic caused by the initial incident. LFR transported one individual from this crash to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lincoln Police and emergency crews promptly secured the area, ensuring public safety and redirecting traffic. The affected streets were reopened around 7:50 a.m.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to everyone affected by this unfortunate incident. We wish the injured a speedy recovery and strength for their families during this difficult time.
