Madison Co, NE (March 12, 2025) – A fatal crash occurred on Tuesday morning in Madison Co, claiming the life of a male driver and leaving a female driver with life-threatening injuries. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office reported the incident at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Hwy 275 near Meadow Grove.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, a westbound SUV crossed into the eastbound lanes, prompting the driver of a pickup to attempt an evasive maneuver. Unfortunately, a head-on collision occurred. Emergency personnel from Meadow Grove and Battle Creek responded to the scene, working to extricate the female driver from the pickup. Firefighters assisted in the rescue efforts while paramedics provided immediate medical care.
The male SUV driver, identified as being from Elkhorn, NE, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released, pending family notification. The female driver, a resident of Tilden, NE, sustained critical injuries and was transported by Norfolk Rescue to a nearby medical facility for advanced treatment. Authorities managed the traffic flow in the area and secured the crash site for investigation.
