Omaha, NE – One Killed in 4-Car Crash at Sorenson Pkwy & Wenninghoff Rd

Omaha, NE (December 4, 2024) – A fatal multi-car crash occurred on Tuesday night at the intersection of Sorenson Pkwy and Wenninghoff Rd, claiming one life and leaving several others seriously injured. The collision near Omaha Northwest High School involved four vehicles and prompted a significant emergency response.  

According to authorities, the crash occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m. when a silver Honda Pilot traveling westbound on Sorenson Pkwy attempted to turn northbound onto Wenninghoff Rd. The Pilot collided with a gray Ford Fiesta, setting off a chain reaction that involved a red Toyota Camry and a silver Honda Odyssey.  

Emergency crews, including paramedics and firefighters, responded quickly to the scene. The driver of the Fiesta was extricated by firefighters and rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries but was later pronounced dead. The drivers of the Pilot and Camry sustained critical injuries, respectively, and were also transported to local hospitals for medical treatment.  

The crash led to the temporary intersection closure for nearly three hours as first responders worked to clear the site and investigators assessed the circumstances. Preliminary reports suggest that speed may have been a contributing factor, though the incident remains under investigation.
