Injury Pick-Up Accidents on the Rise in Rural Cheyenne County
Pick-up truck accidents are a growing concern in Cheyenne County due to increased traffic and the prevalence of these vehicles on the road. In 2023, over 1,000 accidents involving pick-up trucks occurred in Nebraska, with many happening in rural areas like Cheyenne. These trucks, often larger and heavier than passenger vehicles, can lead to more severe injuries, especially in collisions at intersections or on highways. Weather, poor visibility, and inadequate infrastructure further contribute to the risks.
If you’re injured in an accident, it’s crucial to seek medical care immediately, document the scene, and report it to law enforcement. If the accident was caused by another driver’s negligence, you may have grounds for a personal injury claim. An attorney can help you navigate the process and pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. In Nebraska, personal injury claims must be filed within four years of the accident.
