Dodge Co, NE (December 2, 2024) – A fatal semi-truck crash occurred on Thanksgiving Day in Dodge County, claiming the life of a 22-year-old Omaha woman. The incident, reported by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 77 and the Highway 275 bypass north of Fremont.
According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, a semi-truck attempted to make a left turn from the HWY 275 off-ramp to head southbound on HWY 77 when it collided with a Kia Sorento traveling southbound. The driver of the Kia, Shana Lininger, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Kia was taken to Methodist Fremont Health in stable condition.
Local emergency responders, including the Nebraska State Patrol, Fremont Fire Department, Fremont Police Department, Fremont Rural Fire Department, and County/State Roads, assisted in managing the crash scene.
