Homer, NE (June 17, 2025) – A 16-year-old girl died on Monday, June 16 evening after a rollover crash just south of Homer, according to the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened around 5:15 p.m. on Omaha Avenue, approximately one mile south of town. Investigators say the teen was driving a side-by-side vehicle when she lost control. The vehicle went off the road and rolled. She died at the scene from her injuries.

No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Authorities have not yet released the girl’s name. The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol are working together to determine what caused the crash.
