Lincoln, NE (November 28, 2024) – An injury car crash occurred Thursday night temporarily closing a busy intersection in south Lincoln. First responders arrived at approximately 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of 14th St and Nebraska Pkwy.
According to reports from the Lincoln Police Department, the crash involved an SUV and a car. Emergency crews worked to extract an individual from the SUV, who was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. Authorities have not released the identities of those involved nor provided an update on the cause of the collision.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue personnel were on the scene to assist with the extraction and to secure the cars, while officers directed traffic around the area to ensure public safety. The intersection remained closed for nearly two hours before reopening around 10:30 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation, and Lincoln Police have asked anyone with information to come forward.
