Beatrice, NE (January 30, 2024) – An injury three-car crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon in north Beatrice, sending one person to the hospital. The incident happened around 2:25 p.m. at the intersection of US Hwy 77 and Industrial Row.

According to authorities, a Nissan Altima, driven by a 38-year-old Beatrice man, was traveling southbound when it entered the intersection as the traffic signal turned from yellow to red. Meanwhile, a Chevrolet Express van, driven by a 27-year-old Papillion man, was making a left turn onto Industrial Row when it was hit on the passenger side by the Nissan. The impact caused the Chevrolet to slide sideways into a third car that was stopped at the red light. The force of the crash also knocked over a traffic sign in the median.

Emergency responders, including Beatrice Fire & Rescue and local law enforcement, quickly arrived at the scene. The driver of the Nissan was transported by ambulance to Beatrice Community Hospital for treatment of injuries. Two occupants of the stopped car, both from Summerfield, Kansas, sustained minor injuries and opted to drive themselves to the hospital for evaluation. The Beatrice Police Department managed traffic control as crews worked to clear the wreckage from the roadway.

Our thoughts are with those affected by this accident, and we wish a full recovery to those who sustained injuries.
