Lancaster Co, NE (March 11, 2025) – A bicycle injury crash occurred on Saturday evening, March 8, after a bicyclist was hit by a car in Lancaster County. The incident, reported by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office (LSO), occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. at Highway 6 (West O St) and SW 84th Street near Emerald.
According to the LSO, a man riding an electric bicycle failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a westbound car traveling on Hwy 6. Emergency responders, including paramedics and firefighters, quickly arrived to provide medical assistance and secure the area. The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to a Lincoln hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where he underwent surgery on Monday morning. No other individuals were injured in the crash.
Authorities managed traffic around the intersection while firefighters assisted in clearing debris and securing the site. As of late Sunday night, no citations have been issued, and the crash remains under investigation by the LSO.
