Lancaster Co, NE (January 21, 2025) – An injury car crash occurred late on January 20 at the bridge over Stevens Creek near 120th and O Streets, sending two drivers to the hospital with serious injuries. The incident happened just before midnight and prompted a swift response from emergency services.
According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office (LSO), the crash involved a 2019 Dodge Caravan driven by a 23-year-old Missouri man traveling eastbound on O Street and a westbound 2004 Ford Escape driven by a 34-year-old Omaha man. The vehicles collided head-on, resulting in significant damage to both.
Emergency crews, including Southeast Fire & Rescue and Lincoln Fire & Rescue, extricated the drivers from their vehicles. Both were transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic on O Street was halted for approximately two hours as law enforcement secured the area and medical teams assisted.
The LSO’s crash reconstruction team is investigating the cause of the accident.
