Washington Co, NE (December 14, 2024) – A tragic car crash on December 13 in Washington County resulted in the death of one individual and left another seriously injured. The incident occurred just before 5:30 p.m. on Highway 30 near Arlington.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, a Chevrolet Colorado, driven by 57-year-old Toni Larsen of Arlington, crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. The impact ejected Larsen from the vehicle. Despite efforts by emergency responders, she was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital.
The 42-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet Silverado from Fremont suffered significant injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.
Icy road conditions were considered a factor in the crash, and authorities urged caution when driving in winter weather. The investigation is ongoing.
Our condolences go out to the family of Toni Larsen during this difficult time, and we also wish a full recovery to the injured driver.
